The Best-Performing Cannabis Micros in New York
New York’s microbusiness growers sold an estimated $46.50M of their own brands this year. The top 25, and where each ranks among 1,195 brands.
New York's licensed dispensaries sold an estimated $1.17 billion of branded cannabis between January 1 and September 23, 2026, spread across 1,195 brands. We pulled out every brand made by a state-licensed microbusiness — the smallest growers New York licenses, capped at 3,500 square feet of indoor canopy (up to 10,000 outdoor), who grow, process and can sell their own product — and ranked them by estimated retail sales.
We found 85 craft brands from 76 microbusinesses. Together they sold $46.50M. The top 25 took $42.52M, 91.4% of that. For each brand we give its rank among all 1,195 brands in the state, so the craft list can be read against the whole market.
The short version
Craft is about 4% of the market — and growing. Micro brands took 4.0% of New York's brand sales for the year and 4.3% over the last 30 days. The state's No. 1 brand, ayrloom, sold $48.34M on its own — more than all 85 craft brands combined ($46.50M).
Two names lead craft. Back Home Farm in Ulster County makes Nos. 1 and 3, Back Home Cannabis Co. and Milkweed — $12.31M together, 26.5% of all craft-brand sales. Left Coast, No. 2, sold $9.96M under a Saratoga County micro license. They are the only craft brands in the statewide top 100, at Nos. 30 and 31.
The drop-off is steep. After the top two, no craft brand reached $2.2 million: No. 3, Milkweed, sold $2.17M. By No. 10 the figure is $934K, and No. 25 sold $412K.
Wizard Trees is the one to watch. The Los Angeles brand, made in Queens under its own micro license, jumped from No. 133 for the year to No. 54 statewide over the last 30 days. Lead Farmer, Zebu and Major are also climbing.
Craft sells at market prices, on average. The average craft item sold for $36.71, against $35.83 for all brands. The spread inside the top 25 is wide: from $20.13 (Ravens View Genetics) to $56.78 (Wizard Trees).
Where craft sits in the whole market
Every brand-tagged dollar in New York falls into one of four groups. Adult-use cultivators — the large growers, licensed for up to 100,000 square feet — make 35.4% of brand sales through their own and partner brands. The medical Registered Organizations, such as Curaleaf and GTI, make 15.7%. Microbusinesses make 4.0%. The remaining 45.0% is processor-made brands, out-of-state brands whose New York maker we couldn't tie to a grower, and accessories.
The statewide top 10, for context:
| # | Brand | Sales | Share of brand sales | Made by |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | ayrloom | $48.34M | 4.12% | Gen V Growers (Beak & Skiff), LaFayette — adult-use cultivator |
| 2 | Rythm (GTI) | $34.14M | 2.91% | GTI / RISE — medical operator (RO) |
| 3 | Jaunty | $32.36M | 2.76% | Naturae, Troy — processor |
| 4 | Florist Farms | $30.12M | 2.57% | Main Street Farms, Cortland — adult-use cultivator |
| 5 | MFNY | $30.10M | 2.57% | MFNY Operations — adult-use cultivator |
| 6 | Fernway | $29.32M | 2.50% | Massachusetts vape brand |
| 7 | Ruby Farms | $28.64M | 2.44% | Kingston Reserve (dba Ruby Farms), Hyde Park — adult-use cultivator |
| 8 | Dank. by definition. | $26.75M | 2.28% | HPI Canna — partner brand made by a cultivator |
| 9 | Find (Curaleaf) | $25.63M | 2.18% | Curaleaf — medical operator (RO) |
| 10 | Off Hours | $23.88M | 2.04% | NoWave, Chili — processor that also holds a cultivator license |
The top craft brand, Back Home Cannabis Co., would need to more than double its sales to reach No. 10.
How we built the list
- Craft means an OCM Microbusiness license. New York's microbusinesses are the smallest licensed growers — capped at 3,500 sq ft of indoor canopy, 5,000 mixed-light, 7,500 combination or 10,000 outdoor — and may grow, process, distribute and sell their own product. Adult-use cultivators (up to 100,000 sq ft) and the medical operators are not in this list.
- Sales are estimates. Retail dollars and items come from Lit Alerts' New York brand data, January 1 – September 23, 2026 (September 23 is a partial day). “Last 30 days” is August 24 – September 22. Store-only sales at micro-run dispensaries are not counted in brand totals.
- Each brand is tied to a license. We matched brands to microbusiness licenses using license numbers printed on brand websites, packaging and lab reports, OCM's license data (data.ny.gov) and press coverage. Where a link rests on thinner evidence, we say so in the brand's entry.
- Verified twice. A second verification pass (September 24–26) rechecked every brand's sales and rank against Lit Alerts and every license against OCM's live data. It added 11 brands whose micro license number is printed on the brand's site or its lab reports — including Left Coast, Major, 1 Slice, Grams and Royal Leaf — and corrected two name-only matches (Supernaturals, ADK Hemp Co). Two brands were removed after checking: “The Sauce” is not a micro brand, and Presidential's lab reports are almost all under a Brooklyn processor's license (Dumbo Electric), not a micro's. ADK Hemp Co and Adirondack Hemp Company are the same grower under two menu names; we list them as they appear in the sales data.
Nos. 1–5: two $10 million brands, then a steep drop
Nos. 1–5 sold $25.98M combined, 55.9% of craft-brand sales.

| 2 | Left Coast | Asset Packaging Management Co. | Saratoga | $9.96M | 247,611 | $40.22 | No. 31 | No. 35 |

1. Back Home Cannabis Co. — Back Home Cannabis Co. is the best-selling craft brand in New York, just ahead of No. 2, Left Coast: $10.14M across 240,882 items at $42.10 each. It ranks No. 30 of 1,195 brands statewide. The brand belongs to Back Home Farm, a 75-acre organic farm in High Falls, Ulster County, owned and run by head farmer Will Leibee, which grows cannabis outdoors in the soil along the Rondout River alongside roughly 140 other crops. Leibee opened his own dispensary, Back Home Cannabis, in Stone Ridge on Sept. 28, 2024. Over the last 30 days it held No. 32 statewide.
2. Left Coast — Left Coast is the one big surprise on the list: $9.96M across 247,611 items, No. 31 statewide — nearly level with Back Home. It began as Left Coast Extracts, a California brand founded in San Diego County in 2014 by Coltin and Alexandria Barody, and entered New York in September 2024 under a microbusiness license held by Asset Packaging Management Co. (OCM-MICR-24-000123), whose OCM contact is Coltin Barody. Its New York facility is a 10,612-square-foot building on Route 50 in Wilton, Saratoga County. The brand says it grows, processes and distributes its own products and sells indoor flower grown “under our New York micro license,” and every New York lab report we found — nearly 400 — is under that license. But local planning records and news coverage describe the site mainly as extraction, packaging and distribution, and New York lets a micro buy up to 500 pounds of biomass a year from other licensed growers. How much of these sales comes from its own canopy, capped at 3,500 square feet indoors, isn't public.
3. Milkweed — Milkweed is Back Home Farm's second brand — a small indoor line grown in single-strain rooms with no sprays and beneficial insects, named for the plant monarch butterflies depend on. It sold $2.17M at $49.43 per item, the highest price in the top three. With Back Home Cannabis Co., the farm's two brands took $12.31M, 26.5% of all craft-brand sales in the state.
4. Aeterna — Aeterna is a family-owned, minority-owned grower on Route 9 in Hudson, Columbia County, led by a legacy grower with more than 13 years of experience. It grows only in greenhouses under mixed light and handles everything from planting to packaging itself. It calls itself one of the first licensed brands in New York's adult-use market. $1.90M at $33.16 per item; No. 124 statewide.
5. Wizard Trees — Wizard Trees is the one out-of-state name near the top: a Los Angeles flower brand known for in-house breeding, produced in New York under its own microbusiness license, Wizard Trees NY LLC in Astoria, Queens (OCM-MICR-24-000155). Its New York lineup is 3.5-gram jars and pre-rolls. At $56.78 per item it is the priciest brand in the craft top ten, and it is climbing fastest: No. 133 statewide for the year, No. 54 over the last 30 days, with 38.8% of its year's sales in that stretch. Over the last 30 days it was New York's No. 3 craft brand.
Nos. 6–10: New York City joins the list
Nos. 6–10 sold $6.13M combined, 13.2% of craft-brand sales.
| # | Brand | Grower | County | Sales | Items | Per item | Statewide rank | Last 30 days |

| 6 | Supernaturals | Oak Queens | Ulster | $1.42M | 56,722 | $25.09 | No. 150 | No. 130 |
| 7 | DADA | Excelsior Legacy | Kings | $1.41M | 32,775 | $43.12 | No. 153 | No. 157 |
| 8 | Major | Aj's Native Wholesale Inc | Queens | $1.22M | 35,236 | $34.65 | No. 163 | No. 138 |
| 9 | High Ambitions | Magna Canna NY | Bronx | $1.14M | 32,034 | $35.65 | No. 169 | No. 172 |
| 10 | Roemer | Roemer Farms | Albany | $934K | 22,999 | $40.60 | No. 178 | No. 215 |
6. Supernaturals — Supernaturals is the brand of Oak Queens LLC, an Ulster County micro (license OCM-MICR-24-000093) founded by farmer Jens Verhaegh, who started in Accord under a conditional cultivator license. It is grown under the sun in living soil with no synthetic fertilizers or pesticides — the farm uses compost, cover crops and grazing sheep — and sells mainly pre-rolls and fast-acting gummies. $1.42M; No. 150 statewide. (Our growers worksheet had matched this brand by name to an unrelated Nassau company; the brand's own site prints Oak Queens' license number, so we have corrected it.)
7. DADA — DADA is a boutique New York City flower brand rooted in the city's legacy market. It sells small-batch indoor strains sourced from legacy growers in New York and elsewhere, so it is closer to a curator than a farm. A February 2026 lab report lists Excelsior Legacy LLC, a Brooklyn microbusiness (OCM-MICR-25-000243), as the client; earlier batches were tested for a processor, CannaCure NY. $1.41M at $43.12; No. 153 statewide.
8. Major — Major is flower and pre-rolls from a team of legacy indoor growers based in Queens, in haze-forward and gas strains such as Uptown Haze and Purple Thai. Its lab reports sit under two microbusiness licenses: AJ's Native Wholesale (OCM-MICR-24-000187) and Fela's Farm (No. 20 on this list), so its sales are the work of two micros; we count them under AJ's Native Wholesale, as the data does. $1.22M; No. 163 statewide, up to No. 138 over the last 30 days.
9. High Ambitions — High Ambitions is a Bronx microbusiness brand (MAGNA CANNA NY, OCM-MICR-24-000147) founded by Ashley Vargas, a doctor of psychology, who pitches it as “functional cannabis,” matching strains to uses such as focus. It launched in March 2025 with small-batch indoor flower and pre-rolls. $1.14M; No. 169 statewide.
10. Roemer — Roemer Farms is a family-owned grower in Coeymans Hollow, Albany County, operating since 2019. It grows hydroponically in deep water culture and handles everything from seed to sale, selling 3.5-gram jars and half-gram pre-roll five-packs in more than 40 dispensaries. $934K; No. 178 statewide.
Nos. 11–15: a veteran, the Adirondacks and a Williamsburg shop
Nos. 11–15 sold $4.31M combined, 9.3% of craft-brand sales.

| 15 | Pines | A Walk in the Pines | Chautauqua | $799K | 31,248 | $25.55 | No. 200 | No. 177 |
11. Lead Farmer — Lead Farmer is a veteran-owned micro in Bainbridge, Chenango County, known for indoor flower and pre-rolls. It is the second-fastest climber on the list: No. 179 statewide for the year, No. 119 over the last 30 days, with 26.8% of its year's sales in that stretch — No. 4 among craft brands lately.
12. ADK Hemp Co — ADK Hemp Co. is the brand of Adirondack Hemp Company, Inc. in Stillwater, Saratoga County (OCM-MICR-25-000303) — a family business that started as a hemp farm in 2019 and now grows flower in mixed-light rooms, plus solventless bubble hash and rosin. It also appears in the data as “Adirondack Hemp Company” (No. 25 among craft brands); counted together the two names sold $1.32M. $906K under this name; No. 182 statewide.
13. 1 Slice — 1 Slice is the brand of Cured NY in Otsego County, a microbusiness that grows, processes and sells its own indoor flower, 1.1-gram joints and five-packs it calls “Rippers.” All 61 of its 2026 lab reports are under Cured NY's micro license (OCM-MICR-24-000058). $854K; No. 188 statewide.
14. Grams — Grams is the house brand of Grams Cannabis, the Williamsburg dispensary at 360 Graham Ave. run by Three Cord Ranch under microbusiness license OCM-MICR-25-000223, which covers a Queens grow and the Brooklyn store. It says it sells more than 300 products through 45 retail partners. $827K; No. 191 statewide. (Sales at its own store are not counted in brand totals.)
15. Pines — PINES is the brand of A Walk in the Pines, founded by a family from the Finger Lakes wine region that started growing hemp in 2019. It grows in greenhouses and outdoors and sells flower, pre-rolls, vapes, gummies and concentrates. OCM lists its microbusiness license as not yet operating, and the brand's site still shows its earlier conditional cultivator license, so some of these sales may have been made under that license. $799K at $25.55; No. 200 statewide.
Nos. 16–20: a Navy SEAL, the Adirondacks and Harlem
Nos. 16–20 sold $3.50M combined, 7.5% of craft-brand sales.

Its site lists its micro license (OCM-MICR-24-000179, Liberty, Sullivan County) and calls it a New York-certified service-disabled veteran-owned business. $758K; No. 204 statewide, No. 247 over the last 30 days.
17. Alpine Agronomy — Alpine Agronomy grows in a former Movie Gallery store on Broadway in Saranac Lake, in the Adirondacks. Founder Chase Schuyler has more than 18 years of cultivation experience in California and Oregon. Neighbors' odor complaints in late 2025 led the village to plan an air-quality study; Schuyler said he was adding ventilation. At $50.20 per item it is one of the priciest brands on the list. $746K; No. 206 statewide.
18. Ravens View Genetics — Ravens View Genetics is a women-owned grower in Delhi, Delaware County, run by Joann and Michael Kudrewicz, that specializes in landrace and heirloom genetics. It sells flower, pre-rolls and gummies, and at $20.13 per item it is the cheapest brand in the top 25. $682K; No. 217 statewide.
19. Splash Cannabis Co — Splash sells everyday flower and pre-rolls. Its lab reports list microbusiness license OCM-MICR-25-000246, which OCM gives to Pierre McClain LLC (doing business as Glenmere Farms) in Orange County. It sold $662K for the year but has slowed sharply: only 3.8% of those sales came in the last 30 days, when it ranked No. 333 statewide.
20. Felas — Fela's is run by two brothers from White Plains with more than 13 years of legacy growing experience, named for their grandmother Fela, the first to let them grow at her house. It grows indoors under LEDs and leans toward hazes and old-school sour New York profiles. Its site places the grow in Brewster, Putnam County; its OCM license address is in Astoria. It also produces some of the Major brand (No. 8). $657K; No. 222 statewide.
Nos. 21–25: a woman-owned farm, live rosin and a Rochester storefront

21. 518 Hollow — 518 Hollow is a woman-owned family farm in Washington County, “down a dirt road, tucked between two hills,” growing in soil in mixed-light greenhouses and hand-trimming in small batches. It sells flower and pre-rolls. $615K; No. 227 statewide.
22. Royal Leaf — Royal Leaf is known for cold-cured solventless live rosin, alongside flower and joints. Brand listings tie it to Growing Renaissance, a family-owned Madison County micro (OCM-MICR-24-000183) that grows in living soil in greenhouses; its lab reports are filed under the grower's name rather than the brand's, so we rate the link medium. At $48.13 per item it is one of the priciest brands on the list. $598K; No. 231 statewide.
23. 6 Point — 6 Point is a minority-owned indoor grower in Bloomfield, Ontario County, that sells its own flower at its Six Point Flower Shop in downtown Rochester. Who's climbing
A brand that sold at an even pace would have made about 11.3% of its year-to-date sales in the last 30 days. These top-25 brands beat that by the most, measured by how far they rose in the statewide ranking:
| Brand | Statewide rank, year | Statewide rank, last 30 days | Share of year's sales in last 30 days |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wizard Trees | No. 133 | No. 54 | 38.8% |
| Lead Farmer | No. 179 | No. 119 | 26.8% |
| Zebu | No. 261 | No. 233 | 15.1% |
| Major | No. 163 | No. 138 | 16.2% |
| Pines | No. 200 | No. 177 | 15.3% |
Craft as a whole is gaining: 3.96% of brand sales for the year, 4.32% over the last 30 days (both measured against brand-tagged sales).
Beyond the top 25
The other 60 craft brands sold $3.98M between them. No. 26, Boujee Ben, sold $382K. The full list of all 85 is in the data file that accompanies this article. OCM's license data (updated September 25) lists 317 businesses holding active microbusiness licenses; most had no brand we could find in the sales data.
